Best April Events in Breckenridge [Updated for 2025]
Springtime Sunshine, Slopes, and a Splash of Pond Skimming
April in Breckenridge is that beautiful time of year when the snow starts melting downtown, but the mountains are still showing off. It’s the perfect season for bluebird skies, spring skiing, and those laid-back afternoons filled with fresh air and mountain sunshine. Whether you’re chasing a few more powder days or planning a relaxing getaway, there’s something for everyone to enjoy this month.
Plan Ahead Before You Hit the Slopes
While spring sunshine is rolling in, most ski areas begin their seasonal wind-down in April. Starting April 21, only select lifts and ski runs will remain open. If you’re planning to hit the slopes, double-check lift operations and trail openings on the Breckenridge Ski Area website. The BreckConnect Gondola officially wraps up its season on April 30.
Peaks & Beats Spring Bash: Music, Energy, and Pond Skimming
Mark your calendar for April 25 through 27 for the Peaks & Beats Spring Bash. This high-energy celebration combines everything we love about spring in the mountains—great weather, fantastic skiing, live music, DJs, and the legendary pond skimming contest. It’s the perfect mix of local culture and slope-side fun. Visit the Breck Ski Resort page for event details.
Easter Fun for the Little Ones in Frisco
If you’re looking for something festive and family-friendly, don’t miss the Frisco Easter Egg Hunt on April 20 at noon. This community event takes place at the Frisco Historic Park, where children eight and under are invited to search for hidden eggs throughout the charming park setting. It’s a great way to enjoy Easter Sunday and spend the rest of the day exploring Frisco’s Main Street.
Trade Skis for Snowshoes
Not feeling the lifts? Snowshoeing is a wonderful way to experience the quieter side of Breckenridge in the spring. These local trails offer scenic views, gentle terrain, and a chance to soak in the alpine air:
-
Boreas Pass – A gentle climb with expansive views
-
B&B Trail – Peaceful and woodsy, ideal for spotting wildlife
-
Burro Trail – Easily accessible with a mix of forest and open spaces
-
Indiana Gulch Trail – A slightly more rugged trail with rewarding vistas
If you're looking for more outdoor inspiration, the Go Breck website has plenty of ideas to keep you exploring.
